Since this has a large database of credit cards from several creditors, it’d be nice to have a “wishlist” of credit cards we plan to apply for either in the long term or short future. It could help with setting short term goals and provide data points if to ourselves if we got approved or denied based on the credit score or other factors that helped with decision

Hi all, I feel the Next Card feature still needs a lot of work (many cards, even ones that are in the MaxRewards app not included, also some cards listed in Next Card have been discontinued, issues with ability to sort cards, etc). I just wanted to point staff at MaxRewards and users to a couple other resources for high cash back cards in case they might be helpful for people researching cards to include in the app and/or apply for:
Doctor of Credit is a blog I like that has a list of cards with 5%+ cash back, and another one with 4%+ cash back credit cards. They also have some posts with best cards for certain categories (everyday spend, grocery, gas, restaurant, travel, 0% APR, etc).

Also the r/creditcards Reddit has a good comprehensive list of credit cards with 3%+ cash back in different categories, and one with best flat cash back rate cards.

Also, for anyone looking for 5% back on public transportation, bikes, EVs, thrift stores (including eBay), and other eco-friendly purchases, FutureCard debit card is a great option. This is the Doctor of Credit post about it:

Those are the best sources I’ve found for rewards cards, in addition to MaxRewards, after a lot of internet research. Their recommendations have been better than what I’ve found at NerdWallet, CreditKarma, PointsGuy, and others.
Also btw I’ve found the DuckDuckGo browser does a great job of blocking the ads on DoctorofCredit and many other blogs, in case that’s an issue/helpful to know.

Anik Khan: Anik, any estimation on when the new card recommendation tool might be activated?

Anik Khan: Regarding “Card Recommendations,” how are you determining Card “Difficulty?” It’s way off on some banks/cards!!! Take Navy Federal (NFCU) for example. The app shows ALL of their cards needing “Excellent” with the lone exception of the Platinum (as “Rebuilding”). In reality, NFCU only has ONE card specifically marketed for “Rebuilding,” and that’s the nRewards card as it starts out secured. Their Flagship card is the only one needing truly “Excellent” credit as it’s a Visa Signature. All their other cards should be “Good” though I am a bit on the fence regarding their AMEX, however I would think that it requires “Good” too as I was approved for it pretty early on in my rebuilding cycle (about 1.5 to 2-years in). All said, I’m curious how you determine this field as it’s so inaccurate for NFCU. Thank you.

We may incorporate this into New Card Recommendations.

Would also be great to see how a card we are considering would slot into the best card to use table, know how many expense types it would be the top card for and similar information
